Meteor Lake is a new generation for Intel, and our of Core Ultra CPUs showed that the biggest boost for the CPUs comes in the graphics department.

So in one possible scenario, we could be looking at the 14th Gen Core label for desktop and laptop Raptor Lake Refresh (RPL-R) CPUs, and also for laptop Meteor Lake (MTL) chips, assuming MTL skips the desktop.

The only exception to this is in the GPU results, where Meteor Lake showed leading performance thanks to its newer Arc graphics tile.

There are lots of new features in Meteor Lake beyond just their disaggregated nature that could justify the Ultra branding, but we expect that the powerful integrated graphics and AI accelerators are the main reasons for the rebranding.
